Chameleon Granny Square

Hi crocheters, especially those who make granny squares all the time! Nowadays, I am busy trying to figure out how to crochet the faces of some of the cutest animals on earth and make them into granny squares. This time, I am proud to present this little chameleon face, plus some of its most unique features. When I was developing the design at first, I was mostly concerned with how grumpy looking it would turn out to be, so I worked on making the mouth appear smiling, or at least slightly amused. Another challenge was its eyes, and how to give them their signature bulgy look and convey the feeling that they move to different direction individually without making the viewer uncomfortable. Luckily, they ended up looking at me in a curious and nice way. I think this green animal can go along nicely with my froggy face granny square when making a baby blanket. I also am thinking of making a snake face, since it's the next year’s zodiac animal, so tune in for the rest of my new collection for this year.

Year Of The Dragon Granny Square

Greetings, fellow crochet enthusiasts! My original plan was to unveil this pattern back in February, but it was unfortunately delayed. Nevertheless, I still wanted to share this delightful Granny Square with you all. Inspired by the unique features of Chinese dragons – from their sinuous shapes to the vibrant colors, I bring you another animal face granny square. Making each face feature should be a simple task, and a chart has been included to make the instructions clearer. What follows is basically assembling the crocheted pieces by sewing them in their place. If you haven’t noticed, I have decided to leave the sides of the scales and the upper tips of the horns detached to add dimension to the face. So, I hope you join me - Whether you're a seasoned crochet expert or just starting your yarn-filled adventure- in weaving a piece of art that captures the spirit of the Year of the Dragon. Get your hooks ready, and let's crochet!

Monkey Face Granny Square

Hi crocheters! It’s been a while since I've posted an animal face granny square. Rest assured that I haven't abandoned this line of designs, I have several ideas that are still cooking, but I am not always satisfied with what I come up with. This cute monkey, however, made me happy with his big smile, so I decided to share the pattern with you all. It has the same basic granny square that I have been using for all my other animal granny square collection and reworked the face parts to those of a monkey. I've attached the ears on their straight side, but I kept their round side free. For the background, I've chosen a dark green color, which created a nice contrast with the light brown color of the monkey, but it's up to you if you like to choose another color. Stay tuned for my upcoming crochet animal faces and have a nice day.

Turkey Granny Square

Hi everyone! Since we’re in the middle of the holidays season, my daughter brought to my attention the fact that we have never made a project in celebration of Thanksgiving Day before. I was intrigued by the idea, so I decided to add another animal granny square to my growing collection by crocheting a granny square that has the face of the most renowned icon of this occasion: a turkey. I started with the same base that I’ve been using for most of my collection, then I did a quick research on the most notable features of a turkey face that can be easily translated into crochet-able parts. Finally, I came up with this cartoony turkey face granny square, with easy to make features and cute colorful tail feathers peaking from behind the face. This granny square can be a unit for a blanket, a runner or a center square for a sweater. Have fun making this fine turkey, and I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving Day.
