Dragon Tongue Shawlette

Hello friends! today I bring you another small shawl design (see the previous one here: Carrie Shawlette), but this time I made it using chunky yarn. when me and my girls were taking photos of the finished piece, I had yet to settle on a name for it, that’s when my daughter said jokingly that it looks like a coarse dragon tongue around her neck. I thought it was hilarious and decided to stick with the name Dragon Tongue. For the pattern I went with a simple one, with the addition of a small twist, enough to make it interesting, but still easy to work out. The size can be made larger by basically repeating the general pattern more times than what I chose to go with. This small wrap will keep you warm and cozy for the rest of this cold winter, plus It’s a super easy and quick project that takes less than a hundred yards of chunky yarn to knit. So, I hope you give it a try: make this shawlette in a short time and match it with your favorite jacket and hat. Have a nice knitting day!

Mosaic Tiles Skirt

Hi everyone! Mosaic pattern is one of my favorite patterns to knit, so you will see it included in many of my previous works. Since I’m into knitting skirts these days, I wanted to make one that features this pattern. My pick for the yarn this bulky gray and yellow yarn -which my daughter has picked for me a while back- and it was perfect to make the new skirt. The pattern is quite easy to knit once you know the simple mosaic rules; knit and slip stitches with each color every two rounds or knit and slip stitches one round then purl and slip stitches the other round. This skirt comes in four sizes, so check out the measurement details and pick the size that suits you. I also made a matching hat that goes perfectly with the skirt. I will be posting the instructions for it next week. I hope my new design is to your liking and can't wait to hear your feedback.

Forest Beehive Shawlette

Hello everyone! I made this shawlette after I received a very cute gift from my eight-year-old niece when she returned from vacation. She brought me a pack of three yarn skeins, which she carefully picked herself. I was ecstatic to be given such a thoughtful present, plus, it was my first encounter with Daiso's yarn, or any Japanese yarn, ever. The yarn is bulky and has a nice earthy color palette. Knitting a simple-patterned, asymmetrical shawl is the best way to showcase the lovely color sequence of this yarn, so once the bases of the design were set, I finished knitting the whole thing in two days. I am incredibly happy with the outcome, and I hope you will try making it, too. Please let me know what you think of it and stay tuned for more projects!

Skill level: Easy

Instructions style: written pattern +chart + video tutorial (see below).

Bold Stripes Hat

Hello friends! Making an accessory from yarn, such as a hat, a set of mittens or a head band that matches a sweater or skirt can seriously enhance the overall look of your chosen outfit. So, having a lot of leftover yarn, I had to make a matching hat for the Bold Stripes Skirt and Top set to be complete. This hat has the same general pattern of the other two pieces, although the final look leans more towards a beret shape. I've made this hat in two sizes that I hope can fit most heads. You can even knit it with a different colored yarn to break the monotone of the outfit. It's a pretty easy knit, especially if you had made the skirt or the top before. I hope you enjoy making and wearing it!

Bold Stripes Top

Hello everyone! Since I've made the Bold Stripes Skirt, my mind was set on making a matching top. I was actually two thirds of the way done with it when I ran out of yarn. What delayed me from finishing it that was that I purchased the yarn while I was traveling, and my local store did not have this particle kind. So as soon as I could get my hands on more of that yarn, I was done. You see, the cool thing about working with bulky yarn (compared to lesser yarn weights) is that it makes knitting so much easier; simple pattern looks nice with it, and you finish the piece you’re working on in no time. This piece is a crop top of sorts, non the less, if you prefer, you can make it longer and get a full-length sweater. The available sizes range from extra small to 4XL, but in case you want to knit a larger size, let me know in a comment. Enjoy making this two-piece set and have nice knitting days.
