Marigold Shawl

Hi everyone! It's been a while since my last post, as I've been busy with family matters. But clearly, I still haven’t ran out of this Nako Elit Baby yarn, and this is the third design after the Dusky Sky Hat and Powder Stripes Shawl that I made using it. It's so soft and easy to work with and has a very pretty color scheme that I just love to work with it. Now this shawl, with its classic triangular shape, has a four rows pattern that is repeated three times within the general pattern. It has one specific new trick, which is to make five stitches out of one in a row, then knit them together in the next row. To me, the pattern looks like twigs with little leaves on both sides, or like wheat ears, though you are free to imagine whatever you like. The lacy waves edging rows will give you a very beautiful and cozy shawl that’s perfect for these unusually chilly spring days. Hope you have an enjoyable time making it!

Powder Stripes Shawl

Hello guys! I’m glad to be back and working after I inevitably got infected with Omicron a couple of weeks ago and had my fair share of all its symptoms. I feel much better now and hope to regain my full strength soon! And that’s why, due to my health state, this shawl took a relatively long time to finish, though it’s here at last! I think my saving grace was that it was an easy knit, the yarn colors are also very easy on the (tired) eyes and didn’t give me a hard time during my illness. As it is a quick work, it could be a great gift for the coming spring weeks with all its lovely occasions. The pattern is simple and consists of 20 rows that are worked using each yarn color alternately. I hope you enjoy making this beautiful shawl, and I wish you all a very healthy spring!

Merlin Sage Shawl

Happy New Year everyone! This is my first shawl in 2022, so I'm starting with one of my favorite designs to make, an asymmetrical shawl. This one features a pattern with diamonds and big eyelets. As I say every time, once you start working the pattern, you'll find out how easy it is, and knitting it will go smoothly. A bonus feature for this shawl is that you can repeat the general pattern as many times as you want until you get the size you desire. I also included a video tutorial for the I-cord bind off method, which many of you have asked me about before. With so many ideas and new designs on my mind, I promise you numerous new knitting and crochet projects, with easy instructions and awesome designs. So, stay tuned for all my upcoming posts and have fun knitting!

Azure Shoreline Shawlette

Hello my fellow knitters! Each time I say "Enough! this is the last time I use ombre yarn", I find myself buying a new skein on my next visit to the store. But I have to give to ombre yarn; when used in the right way, a color gradient does give your knitted piece a unique and eye-catching look. In addition, you don't have to choose an intricate pattern, you can just pair a few skeins of ombre yarn with a simple pattern and it would still turn out stunning. With all that in mind I designed this shawlette, it is very simple, with an eight-row general pattern that repeats over and over. You can even turn it into a full-sized shawl by repeating the general pattern as many times as you want until you achieve the desired size. Just keep in mind that you might need a larger skein of ombre yarn to get there. So, give this one a go and let me know how it turns out for you, I am sure it will be the perfect handmade present for the upcoming holidays this winter. I wish you the happiest times knitting and preparing nice gifts for your family and friends!

Simple Checkered Beanie

Hello everyone! Sometimes, a nice and quick project is all you need to make a cute present for this season's celebrations. So a pattern that only has knit and purl stitches, and could be finished within a few hours is the perfect project! This is a very easy to make beanie hat that features a simple but detectable checkered pattern, even though its knit from a single colored yarn. What I did -which was new for me in this hat- is the decreasing rows; they don't consist of lines that start after the general pattern and end up meeting at the center top. Instead, they are rounds that get smaller as you reach the top. I hope you have fun making this hat!
