Branch High Hat

Hi everyone! One of my favorite things to do while browsing the internet, is finding ways of converting certain patterns to fit into a hat, shawl, cowl or any other project of mine. Once a pattern is chosen, it goes into a long process of trial and error. Sometimes, even after days of experimenting, nothing satisfactory comes out of it, and I frog the whole thing and move on to another pattern. In this hat though, I watched a video of this pattern that was worked back and forth, which I thought made it look somewhat difficult to knit. And that’s when an idea came to my mind that this pattern would be much easier if worked in rounds, and thus this hat was born. It looks very nice and is really fun to make! It can be made in two sizes; for the little ones to wear in the upcoming breezy spring days, and for adults it can look very elegant and warm. Hope you enjoy knitting it!

  1. adult size hat, ribbing directions don't match the photo of the hat....i.e., written directions say, "k1, p3, k1 across the row". Photo shows ribbing as k2, p3. Which is it?

    1. Hi there,
It's actually p4 not p3 in the rib rounds. If you take a second look at the instructions, you'll see that I start the rib round with k1, then p4, then k1. So, by repeating that to the end of the round, you will get k2 sandwiched between p4 across the round (k2, p4, k2, p4, k2,...), just like the picture shows.
I hope that helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions.
