Carrie Shawlette

Hello fellow knitters! As a knitter who strongly adheres to the motto "no yarn should go to waste", I made this shawl of the leftover yarn of my Anna Crop Top project. Once again, I've kept the design simple, as I believe it is the best choice for a color changing yarn. Size-wise, you can consider this shawlette as a mix between scarf and a mini shawl, the perfect tiny piece to finish knitting in no time. The final look will depend on the color sequence of your yarn of choice, and how you choose to put it around your neck. So, if you are in a hurry and need a casual and fun neck wrap, look no further. Grab some yarn scraps and start making this shawlette today.

Weaved Flowers Shrug

Hello everyone! It's time to make a simple and fun shrug as requested by my daughter. This is the first time I share a shrug design, so I wanted to make something easy to knit. I went for the weaved pattern; a straightforward pattern that repeats every 12 rows. You can make the shrug in any size you like by merely adding or subtracting a certain number of stitches and rows to or from the basic pattern (all of this and more are included in a detailed note at the top of the instructions). So, pick up your favorite yarn and start knitting, and you’ll get yourself one eye-catching shrug in no time. Enjoy!

Weaved Messy Bun Hat

Hello to you all! This is my first attempt at designing a messy bun hat. I'm using the same weave pattern that I've used previously in my Ginger Basket Shawl. While I kept the making process easy, I still wanted to give this hat an exceptional style, so I paired an easy pattern with a vibrant colored yarn with small flowers sprinkled all over it. I also added a ribbon to the top opening so it can be adjusted to the head size and hair. So grab a skein of your favorite stashed yarn and a ribbon and make this messy bun hat for you or your little ones in just a few hours. I'm preparing another easy to knit project using the same type of yarn, so keep an eye out for it. Have a lovely knitting day!

Work as follows:

Note: Put a ring stitch marker at the beginning of round 2.

General pattern:

Rounds 1- 4: k 2, p 5, k 1, repeat to end.

Duckling Granny Square

Hello guys! It’s been a while since I last made an animal themed granny square, and I truly miss making them. I’ve had such a good time coming up with all sorts of cute animal designs, such as the Puppy, Frog, Koala, Chick and all the other ones in my collection. Working on these granny squares is fun and relaxing, and a much-needed break to take while I’m working on other big projects like my knitted shawls. This time, I gathered my bright colored cotton yarn and came up with this adorable and ridiculously silly looking duckling. My little niece says it reminds her of a Pokémon, but I have no clue about that, so I’ll take her word for it. You can use this granny square in a number of awesome projects, like making an animal themed baby blanket, pillow covers, or simply framed and hung on a nursery’s wall. I hope you enjoy making this! Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions for future animal granny squares!

Forest Beehive Shawlette

Hello everyone! I made this shawlette after I received a very cute gift from my eight-year-old niece when she returned from vacation. She brought me a pack of three yarn skeins, which she carefully picked herself. I was ecstatic to be given such a thoughtful present, plus, it was my first encounter with Daiso's yarn, or any Japanese yarn, ever. The yarn is bulky and has a nice earthy color palette. Knitting a simple-patterned, asymmetrical shawl is the best way to showcase the lovely color sequence of this yarn, so once the bases of the design were set, I finished knitting the whole thing in two days. I am incredibly happy with the outcome, and I hope you will try making it, too. Please let me know what you think of it and stay tuned for more projects!

Reef Waves Shawlette

Hi everyone! Most of the time, I buy yarn on a whim, without a prior plan for what I’m gonna do with it. The color or texture would excite me at first so I purchase it, then, when I sit down browsing online to see what I can make out of it, I get into this endless loop of trial and error, which is really tiring most of the time. And this is exactly what happened with the yarn I used for this shawlette. I impulsively bought a bag of five skeins, only to find out later how hard it is to work this kind of yarn into a pattern. But isn’t this a nice challenge that makes knitting more exciting and worthwhile? And so, after draining half of my mental powers, the five skeins became the Crimson krill shawl and this shawlette. I think they both look very pretty, are incredibly easy to make, and leave you with this soft and cozy feeling on your skin when worn during these spring days and nights. I hope you give knitting it a try and have a lovely time doing it. Stay safe and healthy!
