Christmas Santa Ornament

Hi everyone! This Christmas ornament is a matching piece to one of my most popular designs, my Christmas Wreath Ornament, which I made a few years ago. Until now I am both astonished and grateful for all the attention that post has gained, and so for this year I decided to come up with a new ornament inspired by it. About this Santa ornament, I used a plastic ring that I purchased from a crafts store as a base to crochet Santa faces around it in a circle. You can swap for a bigger or smaller ring than the one I used easily and make as many faces as you want by allocating six double crochet stitches in the first round for each face. I hope you have fun with this quick and easy project, and make sure to check out my other Christmas crochet projects.

Monkey Face Granny Square

Hi crocheters! It’s been a while since I've posted an animal face granny square. Rest assured that I haven't abandoned this line of designs, I have several ideas that are still cooking, but I am not always satisfied with what I come up with. This cute monkey, however, made me happy with his big smile, so I decided to share the pattern with you all. It has the same basic granny square that I have been using for all my other animal granny square collection and reworked the face parts to those of a monkey. I've attached the ears on their straight side, but I kept their round side free. For the background, I've chosen a dark green color, which created a nice contrast with the light brown color of the monkey, but it's up to you if you like to choose another color. Stay tuned for my upcoming crochet animal faces and have a nice day.

Turkey Granny Square

Hi everyone! Since we’re in the middle of the holidays season, my daughter brought to my attention the fact that we have never made a project in celebration of Thanksgiving Day before. I was intrigued by the idea, so I decided to add another animal granny square to my growing collection by crocheting a granny square that has the face of the most renowned icon of this occasion: a turkey. I started with the same base that I’ve been using for most of my collection, then I did a quick research on the most notable features of a turkey face that can be easily translated into crochet-able parts. Finally, I came up with this cartoony turkey face granny square, with easy to make features and cute colorful tail feathers peaking from behind the face. This granny square can be a unit for a blanket, a runner or a center square for a sweater. Have fun making this fine turkey, and I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving Day.

Christmas Cherry Granny Square

Hello crocheters! today I bring you a classic design of mine from a few years ago. It is a stress-free, straight forward project to make if you know the basic crochet stitches. I have revamped this little square's design and rewritten the pattern to be super clear to follow. Now the instructions come with a lot of tutorial photos on how to attach the separate pieces together, and a detailed chart for the cherry and the leaves. Coming back to this design after so many years got me really inspired, and now I have many ideas for more charismas themed units to add to my collection. Hopefully, they will be posted soon so stay tuned!

Place the cherry and leaves piece on top of the granny square base, making sure to position it so that one leaf tip aligns with the center dc of the red outer square on one side of the square, then mark that place with a stitch marker. The two other leaf tips should now align with the fifth dc from the far away corners of the two other sides of the red outer square. Mark these two places too with stitch markers as shown in the picture.

Pass the green strands of the leaves through the base on each side of the marked double crochets, then tie them at the back. Repeat this step for the red cherry's strands to secure the center of the piece to the base. Cut the excess yarn.
