Hi knitters! Halloween is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with a cozy handmade hat! This Halloween-inspired hat combines warm, autumnal colors with a playful pumpkin design, making it a fun accessory for the spooky season. The colorwork adds just the right amount of Halloween charm, while the simple knitted shape keeps it comfortable and practical for chilly autumn days.
I made two sizes using different color, a soft cream and pumpkin-orange version, and a rich rust-orange hat with bright yellow details. Happy Halloween knitting!

Materials:
- Suggested yarn: Alize Burcum Classic, (100% acrylic, 3.5 oz (100 g), 230 yards (210 m):
- Child size: brick color 440 (yarn A), 1 skein; and yellow 216 (yarn B), 1 skein.
- Adult size: cream (01) (yarn A), 1 skein; and brick color 440 (yarn B), 1 skein.
- Circular knitting needles, 16" (40 cm) long, size US 8 (5 mm).
- Double pointed needles (DPNs) set, size US 8 (5 mm).
- Tapestry needle.
- Ring stitch marker.
- Child size: height: 8.3" (21 cm), head circumference: 18"-19" (46-48 cm).
- Adult size: height: 9" (23 cm), head circumference: 21"-22" (53-56 cm).
Gauge: 18 stitches and 24 rounds = 4"x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm) in stockinette stitch and US 8 (5 mm) knitting needles.
Yardage:
- Child size: 123 - 125 yards (112 - 115 m), approx.
- Adult size: 158 - 160 yards (142 - 145 m), approx.
- st: stitch.
- sts: stitches.
- k: knit.
- p: purl.
- k2tog: knit two stitches together.
With yarn A, cast on 80 (96) sts. Join in the round. Don't know how to join in the round? here is a short tutorial on how to do it (from 0:26 - 1:15 min):
Put a ring stitch marker at the beginning of rounds, knit 10 rounds. Work the pattern using yarn A and B. Cut yarn B, and k 5 (7) rounds.
Decreasing rounds:
For Child Size
Round 1: k 14, k2tog, repeat to end. (75 sts)
Rounds 2, 3: k to end.
Round 4: k 13, k2tog, repeat to end. (70 sts)
Rounds 5,6: k to end.
Round 7: k 12, k2tog, repeat to end. (65 sts)
Rounds 8,9: k to end.
Round 10: k 11, k2tog, repeat to end. (60 sts)
Round 11: k to end.
Change to DPNs when needed.
Round 12: k 10, k2tog, repeat to end. (55 sts)
Round 13: k to end.
Round 14: k 9, k2tog, repeat to end. (50 sts)
Round 15: k to end.
Round 16: k 8, k2tog, repeat to end. (45 sts)
Round 17: k to end.
Rounds 18: k 7, k2tog, repeat to end. (40 sts)
Round 19: k 6, k2tog, repeat to end. (35 sts)
Round 20: k 5, k2tog, repeat to end. (30 sts)
Round 21: k 4, k2tog, repeat to end. (25 sts)
Round 22: k 3, k2tog, repeat to end. (20 sts)

For Adult size:
Round 1: k 14, k2tog, repeat to end. (90 sts)
Rounds 2, 3: k to end.
Round 4: k 13, k2tog, repeat to end. (84 sts)
Rounds 5,6: k to end.
Round 7: k 12, k2tog, repeat to end. (78 sts)
Rounds 8,9: k to end.
Round 10: k 11, k2tog, repeat to end. (72 sts)
Rounds 11,12: k to end.
Round 13: k 10, k2tog, repeat to end. (66 sts)
Round 14: k to end.
Round 15: k 9, k2tog, repeat to end. (60 sts)
Change to DPNs when needed.
Round 16: k to end.
Round 17: k 8, k2tog, repeat to end. (54 sts)
Round 18: k to end.
Round 19: k 7, k2tog, repeat to end. (48 sts)
Round 20: k to end.
Round 21: k 6, k2tog, repeat to end. (42 sts)
Round 22: k 5, k2tog, repeat to end. (36 sts)
Round 23: k 4, k2tog, repeat to end. (30 sts)
Round 24: k 3, k2tog, repeat to end. (24 sts)
Round 25: k2tog, repeat to end. (12 sts)
For both sizes: cut the yarn, leaving a 6" (15 cm) tail. Thread the tail through all stitches, pull tight to close, and secure. Weave in the loose ends.
