Midnight Blue Scarf

As I am constantly binging Youtube's knitting pattern videos, I find myself repeatedly impressed by the global knitting committee and all the new (to me, of course) methods and styles they come up with (among my favorites are Russian and Turkish knitters, they are masters of the art). I appreciate the effort they put in making these videos so much, since they make it so easy for any knitter to follow their instructions.
For this project, I was really interested in a knitting technique that requires two different needle sizes, where one needle is double the size of the other. When the two needles are used alternately to knit a piece, you obtain a beautiful, textured relief, with a fluffy and airy look. So I got to work and came up with this scarf, which is super easy and enjoyable to work. I hope you have fun knitting this simple, yet unusual looking piece.

  • p: purl.

  1. In the last instructions it says repeat pattern fife times. Exactly what does that mean?

    1. It actually says repeat from *, means you will repeat the pattern from the asterisk 5 times. So, you will go back to where you see the asterisk in the pattern and repeat from there for the five times, in this case it is where it instructs you to use the 8 mm needle.

  2. Thank you for the comment. There is no general pattern or five times repetition. All mistakes are corrected I hope.
Have a safe and healthy day.

    1. The second last line of the pattern says- Repeat from * five times. If you don't repeat as instructed you're only working through the instructions once and that will not create a scarf of the size specified in the pattern?

  3. There seems to be a repeat missing. I don't think 42 rows would not get the scarf to 65.5 inches. By looking at the picture, it appears the 30 row sequence is repeated 4 times.

    1. Hi buntepbird
Thank you very much for your comment. There seemed to be a missing instruction that tell the repetitions number, and it's been added.
Thank you again. Have a safe and healthy knitting day.
