Note: This pattern has been reviewed and updated on the 8th of November, 2020 to include a picture tutorial to clarify the instructions.
Greetings my fellow Knitters! this is the third project in my February head wear series, and it incorporates the simple braid pattern. I made it available in three different sizes (see measurements below), and experienced knitting it in multiple colors to show how the pattern would look. So, I hope you will find a combination that will suit you.

Round 4: *k the sl st without dropping it, k 2, slide the sl st off the needle, p 2, repeat from * to end.
Round 5: *k 3, p 2, repeat from * to end.
Repeat rounds (1- 5) six (six, seven) times.

Rounds 2 and 3: *k 2, sl st, p 1, repeat from * to end.
Round 4: *k the sl st without dropping it, k 2, slide the knitted sl st off the needle, p 1, repeat from * to end.

DeleteHave a nice day.
Love this pattern. Very nice. Thank you
DeleteThank you.
DeleteI love the hat! I've started knitting but I'm getting confused about the braid pattern. I'm stuck on row 4 (k the ss..) but my needle starts with 2knits and the ss. Do I need to move the stitches to a cable needle or pull the skipped stitch over the 2? Sorry if it's not clear, not sure how to describe this :( thank you for your help! :D
ReplyDeletePlease, watch the video linked through (the Simple Braids Pattern).
DeleteI hope It makes it look clearer.
Wish you luck

Hello, I live in Canada and have never heard of the yarn you are using. Can you tell me please, what weight of yarn is it a #3, #4,#5, or other? I want to find a comparable yarn in order to make this lovely hat. Thank you, kindly.
ReplyDeleteHello Susan
DeleteI live in Amman, Jordan, a country in the Middle East, and most of the yarn here is is imported from Turkey. That's probably why you never heard of it in the west. You can use any yarn of the "Aran" or "DK" weight you like to make this hat.

I love this pattern, but I am having some trouble doing it myself. I watched the video but I had a hard time following it, especially since it is not in English. Is it showing rows 1-6 of the braid pattern? In the video it is on straight needles but this hat is on circular, does that make the pattern different? I would love to get started on this project so any help is appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi
DeleteSure the video is not that big help, you are right. So now I'm preparing my own overhead filming setup corner. I hope the tutorial video will be added to the post, and you will be informed.
Stay safe and healthy.
